My daughter iphone 6 does not work abroad. My son iphone 5 worked fine last month when he came to visit. Both of my children have the simple choice plan, so they should have free text and data in nicaragua. The iphone 5 was bought at tmobile, the iphone 6 at apple.
Hello! I am seeing that Simple Choice is perfect for Nicaragua: International Plans | Traveling Abroad without Roaming Fees | T-Mobile
Are they both under the same plan or their own accounts? Also, what is your daughter seeing on her iPhone 6 while there, and was it working in the US before she left?
If the daughter has access to WIFi, she should use WiFi calling to contact T-Mobile's direct international support number +1-505-998-3793. (Free call from a T-Mobile phone.) It's possible that the account is not properly provisioned for international roaming. I'm not personally familiar with the settings of the iPhone 6 but there may be some network setting that restricts roaming or network selection. She should check this to make sure that the phone is not in a restricted mode. She should also do a manual network search and try to connect to each carrier she sees.
