it had active service for more than 40 days and so on
Prepaid or post paid?
Since you used the past tense, "had", I assume you no longer have T-Mobile service. It's always best to try to get phones unlocked while you still have an active account. Anyway, here are T-Mobile's unlock requirements: Unlock your mobile wireless device
i meet the requirements the phone was bought outright but locked to t-mobile but the account it was bought with has been cancelled with no debt whatsoever.
If it was a prepaid account it needs to be active to receive the unlock code.
Since you've met all the unlock requirements, have you tried contacting T-Mobile as described in the document linked above? Customer Service and support information
i think its a prepaid account....so can i just buy a tmobile sim and have a post paid account for 2 months and then request an unlocked code while its active?
Or you can open a prepaid plan and put a $100 refill on it and get it faster.
Thanks for reaching out! As others have mentioned, you'll want to make sure that you meet all the requirements found here: Unlock your mobile wireless device | T-Mobile Support
