For many this probably isn't an issue. But I do use scheduled settings for wifi and other bits to make sure the kids have no choice but to stop streaming videos and get to bed. But there appears to be a bug in the software in which every time the cellspot reboots or loses power, it will NOT automatically acquire time from any NTP server. You have to log in to the admin page and "apply" the settings again for the time to update.
Tmobile hands me off to Asus and Asus won't answer the question. Anyone else notice this?
Have you tried the IP address of an ntp server instead of the name?
I'm assuming you're using pool.ntp.org ?
I had read someone tried that and indicated it worked for them but not for me. I've even tried setting up a local NTP server on my mail server box and pointed to the internal IP of that device. It still loses time after router reboots forcing me to go back and re-apply the setting.
The correct IP or URL is always in the NTP field and always correct. The thing just doesn't poll it on reboot. I've looked at the router log after a reboot and can't find where it polls the NTP server anywhere during or after a boot.
As much as we'd love to be able to help, it will be Asus or our fantastic forum users who will provide the best support.
