SO, I bought a unlocked iPhone 6 Plus, went to T-Mobile signed up for service, service works, I get home (where I live service is lacking) I see "no service" with the wifi icon.I turn on Wifi calling enter the correct e911 address and I close out, and I still can't get wifi service, please help!
A couple of questions:
1. Have you upgraded to iOS 8.0.2?
2. Can you do other stuff on your wifi like surf the internet?
3. Have you tried to reset network settings?
4. Is WiFi calling an option when you go into settings -> Phone (NOT Cellular)?
Yep, done everything, still the same.I went to the Apple store, and the guy exchanged my phone for a new one, and yet again WIFI calling works in to, but not here at my house, I have a 100MB Up 10MB Down service, and a good ping.I've tried using a different router, and nothing.......:(
I Went to the Apple Store yesterday, and they gave me a new phone, but it's still the same issue.I can use wifi calling in town where there's wifi, just here at my house, I cant
Would you be able to tell us what router you have? And is it possible / not too difficult to reset it to factory settings or call the router manufacturer? I am almost convinced that one needs certain bands to "carry" the call which are being inadvertently blocked in your instance. You swapped out the phone AND can make calls elsewhere - got troubleshoot the home network
Its an Arris DG860 and its my ISP's modem/router.Ive factory reset the thing and it still didn't work. Also on a side note, I had T-Mobile not too long ago and had the LG G3 which had wifi calling, and that, as well as all previous phones that had that option all worked, including on this very Modem/Router....
One more thing to try - that I can think of right off the bat - as you know - T Mobile is offering the ASUS router that hopefully streamlines some of the bandwidth and other settings issues. Can you call them and see if they will ship one to you? The normal cost is $99 but T Mobile is offering that with a $25 deposit only.
We want to make sure you have a great experience with your device! If this is only happening at home we know it's something specific to that connection. Can you try going to the site below and providing us the results you get for Download speed, Upload Speed, Max Pause, and Quality of Service (QoS)?
Just to ask the obvious (maybe dumb) question, but I can't find the answer anywhere else—
For sure, can unlocked iPhone 6s use T-mobile's WiFi Calling? It's a make or break deal whether I keep T-mobile or not as I have a phone ordered and going to arrive in a couple weeks.
From my understanding of the issue - the answer is Yes
If you take a look here -
Apple - iPhone 6 - View countries with supported LTE networks.
The T-Mobile phone is physically the same as the ones sold by Verizon and AT&T
I had a chat with Apple support and they said that the Wi Fi calling is a carrier feature
In other words as long as you have an active T-Mobile account - the WiFi calling should work on variants 5S and above
Please let us know if you have any questions
What worked for me is to go to LTE settings and make sure that it is only enabled for data and not voice. I had the SAME problem. Also see if restarting your phone turns it on for about 2 minutes in a place where you have no service.
