Hello, i have a iphone 6+, and it wont send pictures over wifi. It will send pictures just fine over data (LTE). Any settings that i might need to change here? Ive updated to iOS 8.0.2. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
It may be the strength of your WiFi - were you able to send pictures over the same network with another device? The description that you have may indicate that the pictures being uploaded are too large and the attachment is not going through.
What size pictures are you trying to transmit?
Can you try with a smaller size image and see?
Righ tnow i have the LG G3 and i have the same problem. I can not send or recieve pics over wifi but they go through and come with LTE fine. Never understood this since we have high speed internet.
Sorry to keep asking questions:
1. Are you trying this from work or home? Reason is - some workplaces block certain ports especially if you are on the work intranet.
2. If you have had the same issue with the LG phone then it is probably your internet or router setting
3. Finally are you trying to enclose the pictures in an email or text message?
I previously had the Galaxy S5, and could always send MMS over WiFi. My problem not sending MMS while on Wifi with my iPhone 6 plus, happens on my home, and work wifi. When I went to the Cellular Data Network setting I noticed under the MMS section, the APN field said "Tmus" I changed it to fast.t-mobile.com and under the MMS UA Prof URL i added "http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf" because that field was blank. Will wait and see If it works when I send a picture.
its at home. I have Comcast. Through text messages.
So when you open a text box and try to select an image it simply does not load? The only thing that comes to mind is that MMS messaging - if it is a separate control - must be turned on for pictures to go through. Also for the people with iPhones - can you send the images through iMessage?
I'm still waiting on my iphone to come, but I load the picture in the message hit send and it tells me the message failed or could not send. As soon as I turn of WIFI it sends. Through email it'll send. Just text messages. I may have to go in and tweak my settings...
Thanks for the post and do you see this happening on any other wifi network or just at home? Do sms send via wifi?
iAs of right now I don't know because we do not have wifi at my job so I'm mostly on my data then. When I'm at friends and relatives house I don't pay it any attention. Sms do send over wifi just not mms.
I am having the same issue....iPhone 6 both with wifi and with cell data sends. Email... NP... it's only on the pics attached to a message. Doesn't matter if it's imessage or not. pics hang up at around 95% then just fail. Also, the wifi reception seems to suck. I'm typing this on my laptop which has full bars for wifi (the router is 20 feet away) but the phone has 1 out of 5 showing. What gives??
It seems that I've fixed this issue. I noticed in my APN settings that my MMS APN said "Tmus" I changed it to the specs that t-mobile has on there site which is what I pasted below, and no problems, thanks.
Nice piece of detective work!
I thought the carrier update was supposed to fix those settings
Guess live and learn
Thanks craigers. THat solved it for me as well.
Interesting...I just switched to T Mobile; I'd have thought one of their specialists would have done the work and gotten us this answer.
Glad to hear the messages are back up and running, the APN and MMS settings are definitely good things to check if the web/MMS aren't working properly, thank you for going through those steps. We're here if you have any other questions we can help out with!
