Yes, you can turn off Wi-Fi Calling (WFC) by doing the following:
From the start screen, swipe left. Select Wi-Fi Calling. Switch it to off.
YOu might have to reboot afterwards. Just go to the phone app and ensure it says T-Mobile in the upper left corner instead of WFC.

Thanks for your reply. If I follow the steps you noted, can you clarify whether that action will turn Wifi off everything? I still need Wifi for basic internet. I want to remove it from phone calls and Instant Messaging - only.

The Wi-Fi Calling app is just for the phone call and SMS (texting) settings. It won't affect your Wi-Fi Internet connections.
An important note: Don't uninstall the Wi-Fi Calling app! Uninstalling it does not turn it off, it just keeps you from ever being able to change the settings again. So just open up the app and select the option to turn off WFC.

Just tested it out and I was able to make and receive a call. Thank you very much for your help!!!
