Does the CellSpot Router firmware have VPN built in? I haven't been able to get a definitive answer on this either way. The Full Asus version of this router has an OpenVPN server on it.
It also has 2 USB ports, and one of those USB ports is USB 3.0. Is this true of the CellSpot Router?
Tech specs: Wi-Fi CellSpot™ Router
I will confirm that this router does support USB 3.0 and has an OpenVPN server. I have the OpenVPN server running on it now.
I need some help and your assistance. I have the new TM-AC1900 CellSpot and have been trying to set up and VPN with the router using OpenVPN, I have both the iPhone 5S and also the Galaxy S5. On the Galaxy S5, the VPN client connected, I can only access apps and email with 4G LTE. When I go to connect to wifi, it will connect then drop off. Then continue to say reconnecting. If if does finally connect, I can not access any form of wifi data. Can someone please help.
Are you trying to connect the phone's VPN client while you are connected to the TM-AC1900's WiFi or some other WiFi signal?
Yes, I am trying to connect to the VPN on the TM-AC1900 while on WiFi from the CellSpot. Is that the issue?
AFAIK, VPN connections are designed to come in through the WAN port. There would certainly never be a reason (that I can think of) to use VPN on your own wireless network, unless you are afraid that you might be snooping on yourself.
I understand that, but my question is...... Should the VPN (OpenVPN) work or not work on my own network..... I can see that I am connected in the WRT software, but no internet access.
Just for the S&G, go into the advanced VPN settings and click "Two way" under Broadcast Support.
I do not have the option for "TWO-WAY" . Can not connect WiFi
That may only apply to PPTP.
Give me a chance to do some testing. I'm using PPTP and have no problem getting to the Internet VIA VPN.
