Contract free does not mean they are unlocked.
You will need to have an account with T-Mobile and use it on their network before you can get it unlocked.
If you want an unlocked one you will need to check for when Apple will be selling them that way.

If you plan to pay up front for the iPhone 6, you might as well buy it from the Apple Store and it will come unlocked.
If you are going to take the phone back to Brazil, do you really want T-Mobile's bloat and spyware?
T-Mobile's phones come locked but they will provide the unlock code/authorization if you meet the requirements.
n.b. Did I say "spyware"? I meant to say, "Service quality monitoring software."
