My phone keeps giving me the message "Not Enough Memory. Delete Some Items" when I try to open the gallery or music folders. I have 777 mb free on the system, 2.3 mb free on the usb storage and 1.03 gb free on the SD card. What do I need to do to resolve this? I've deleted music files, apps, pictures and still no luck. Any help is much appreciated.
The USB storage is the cause of the issue here. 2.3 MB is very little. Using the built in file explorer 'files' check to see which folders are using all of your storage space by long pressing every folder you see upon opening the Files App and selecting "details" (do not count the External_SD folder - that's your SD card). See if you can move some photos and videos from the DCIM folder or music from the media folder to folders on your SD card (it is named External_SD in the Files App). Moving files can also be done much faster by plugging in your phone to a PC and connecting the storage to your computer.
If I was to guess you have quite a bit of music or photos and videos on your phone in the USB storage.
Also you should change your settings for your camera to make the default location to save images to your SD card. If you don't know how to do this ask and I will give you step by step instructions.
Take a look at Device is slow / freezes / restarts / or displays memory errors: Android, this will help you clear out some memory.
Adding to anactoraaron, apps use the default build-in memory as the external memory and not the external SD card, which appears as a folder. Google and you will find a couple methods to trick apps to use or default to the SD card. I have used up to a 32G micro SD.
If I can't get into my gallery, I can I move my pics from from SD card to the computer??
I am having the same issue. My "USB" storage is recognizing the external SD card as part of its content and tells me I am full. I have 150MB device, doesn't show any available in the USB, and still 11.78GB on my external SD.
I can't figure out how to fix it either.
