Keep hearing that Dell has released Honeycomb for the streak 7. Is T-Mobile releasing it? If so, when?
Dell has not released Honeycomb for the Streak 7. there are rumors that it's possible and TBA. that's the only current word there is about Honeycomb and the Streak 7 unfortunately.
What I'd heard is that the WiFi streak 7 is getting HC but not us 4g owners. We're getting the old shaftaroo from Tmobile. If such is indeed so, and we do NOT get the update, Tmobile has lost a customer for life. No kidding.
im with bearboman..I seriously hope that isnt true, i saw the page that said that also. I will be really dissapointed and most likely drop t-mobile. Cmon guys i pay a monthly fee and get no update? thats not fair.
btw ive seen your posts on dells community page, im with you 100% /:
Agreed. I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon specifically for a tablet. If they leave us hanging just because the device "wasn't popular enough," guess which wireless provider I'm never recommending? I guess there's a reason T-Mo is cheaper . . . unless they prove me wrong.
Dell hasn't released Honeycomb for any of their Dell Streak 7 devices, no matter what carrier they are on. Dell has to release the OS because they create it not T-Mobile. And because Dell hasn't released a version of Honeycomb for your tablet, the only way to get Honeycomb on a Dell Streak 7 is to root and side load it. There are plenty of instructions on xda for that. Personally, I think that the 7" format is not officially supported in/by Honeycomb because the only devices that seem to be running it are 10.1" tablets with the only exception being the 8.9" G-Slate.
You are seriously misinformed concerning the availibility of Honeycomb on 7in Tabs. Both the Acer A100 and the Huawei Mediapad are 7in Tabs that are running Honeycomb 3.2.
I just got off the phone with tablet support and she told me that there isn't a definite date but there is a honeycomb update for the Streak 7. We just have to wait for the notice before we can download. I asked twice if it was an update and if it was Honeycomb. Keep a look out and I will post again if I receive it.
Never said I was informed of anything. I said "personally, I think" meaning my opinion and yes there are TWO devices that are running 3.2 and I believe 3.2 was when support for the smaller screen sizes was made available. Most of these companies are/where waiting for Google to add the 7" support to Honeycomb and 3.2 has only been available for a few weeks now.
Here is a nice blog article on the addition of 7" tablet support to Android 3.2 http://www.android.net/forum/android-news/61890-rumor-android-honeycomb-3-2-support-7-inch-tablets-bug-fixes-more.html. That article also references the Huawei device you mention. So really I was correct until 3.2 Honeycomb, 7" tablets were not supported.

I have read articles that said Homeycomb was coming for the Streak 7 sometime in Sept.
Gosh, I hope so because that's the reason I chose it over the Galaxy version - The said it was upgradeable to Honeycomb.
I couldn't wait and rooted mine and sideloaded Honeycomb from XDA - but either I did something wrong or there are still a ton of bugs because I had to take off the sideload and re-install Froyo.
So, I am waiting for the official OTA update and I'm hoping that its for 4G users as well.
Good luck to us all
Just got off the phone with technical support -
They said it swould be here (for all Streak users) very soon
I found this searching the interwebs:
I hope it's not B.S.
Dell confirmed today that the 4G Tmobile in the US is not getting Honeycomb.
