Todd. If you bought it from Samsung, T-Mobile should have nothing to do with the unlock.
In fact if you bought it from Samsung it should be unlocked.
T-mobile locks the phone to network when you enter T-mobile SIM card for first time. Even many representatives told me that it's Samsung but Samsung has nothing to do with it. Anyway almost 2 weeks later talking to different people T-mobile finally unlocked my phone. I don't know what was done but i had to send 3 requests before and none of them worked out.
