One more thing: if I reboot the phone, things go back to normal for a little while. The audio stuttering stops and the volume controls work normally. But eventually after playing some videos and plugging and replugging headphones, the issues return. This makes me think it is software related.
I have checked the headphone jack and it seems clean and the pins inside are making contact with the headphone plug.

If you think it is software related. Have you tried a factory reset? You wouldn't be the first to have issues with the DAC and volume after an update. At one poont, LG introduced a volume limit when using the DAC on the V30 and buried the setting to turn that off, which also wasn't added to all firmware versions.
The video stuttering could be a couple of things. CODEC is the first that comes to mind. What browser are you playing videos in? If you are using a video player app. Which one is it and have you tried VLC?
We do wanna see this get resolved for you. Have you taken a look at the suggestions above and tested them out?
Happy Wednesday, magenta2178137!
I just wanted to stop by to see if you're still experiencing audio issues after the latest update on your LG G7. I think this is more of an isolated incident as I haven't seen any other reports of this happening. If you're still having audio problems, have you tried any of the suggestions above?
