Great question, magenta6807747! What type of iPhone does she have? You can usually scan for other networks in the area which is what your wife may have to do. Without knowing the specific model of iPhone, here are general steps to scan for available networks: Network & APN: Apple iPhone & iPad on iOS 11. Network & APN: Apple iPhone & iPad on iOS 11
Thanks for your reply.
The model is 1522 or 5c. FYI
Thank you! Which iOS version are you running? If iOS 10, try these steps:
Manual network selection
The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.
- From the Home screen, tap Settings > Carrier. If the Carrier option does not appear with a T-Mobile SIM card in the device, it may indicate the device was not correctly unlocked or jailbroken.
- Slide the Automatic slider to the off position to start scanning for networks.
- Select desired carrier.
- Press the Home button.
Amanda left some really good steps. Can you give those a shot and see if your phone finds that roaming network?
