Phone numbers versus contact name

magenta1353117

I use my contacts list as a means to screen incoming calls.  If a contact name is there, then i know who is calling. All others go to voicemail. The new version of Digits does seems to not convert known numbers to contacts name.

    Please fix this.

That's really strange. Can you uninstall then reinstall the app and check again? You'll want to make sure you allow the app to access your phonebook/contacts when prompted. Please let us know if that works.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

I removed the android app and reinstalled. It did not ask me to confirm contacts update from the cloud but i did do a 'sync' from the menu.

However i still have a mix of numbers and names for the same individuals. Is there any way to force a complete contacts update from the 'cloud'?

Strangely the reinstallation did fix my other problem which was landscape mode use.

I also deleted cloud contacts and resynched, refreshed to no avail.

              Here is an example:

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

Thanks for posting the image. That's super helpful. Had to blank out the numbers to protect your contacts, but I see what you mean.

When you go to the contact list, does the number have the 1 in front of the number or not? Seems to be showing it with the message at the top.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

That was one of the first things i tried. I tried all possible combinations of 1, +1,(,), spaces, etc. I made the number look exactly like the number shown in the digits app with no success.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

Wow, you've tried a ton already. The only other thing I can think of is deleting the contact and trying to add it back by going through the DIGITS interface. if the issue still continues, you'll wanna Contact Us and have our Team of Experts or T-Force folks to file a Trouble Ticket for the DIGITS program. That'll get sent to engineers for further troubleshooting.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

Unfortunately, this did not work either, and im at the point im forces to stop using the new version of digits completely. It is so buggy, it is unuseable to me. Whenever i make a call there is feedback producing an echo in the other persons phone, i cannot screen calls as numbers show up for known contact friend & family, and yesterday my morning checkin text messages never reached my daughters, causing them to worry un-necessarily.

Im surprised rhat some of these bugs are just now being elevated to the people that wrote the software. This should have been done a long time ago. They should restore the previous vrrsion until thdy get this new version fixed. And speaking of the previous version, im now being forced to uograde on my othrr tablet which was working, but when i do, it tells me its not compatable. So im left with no working digits device. Please restore the previous version of digits.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

Sorry that didn't work but I appreciate you trying.

Have you filed a Trouble Ticket with our specialists already? If not, you'll want to reach out and have one filed and sent up to engineering. Of course we'd like it to work flawlessly when we make updates but in the event it's causing problems, we have ways to escalate it to the right folks to get this resolved.

I got the impression you were going to escalate the proclem to the right people. This should have been done a long time ago.

Ive given up on the new version of digits and have removed it from my 'phones' as it is not useable in its present for. Let your software writers know that. Its your job, not mine.

Re: Phone numbers versus contact name

I'll definitely reach out to our devs about this, however our Team of Experts and T-Force team do have the account access and tools need to piece together a Trouble Ticket. I'm sorry this hasn't gone as smoothly but our Trouble Ticket process is the right escalation path for us to collect examples of issues that may happen especially with our DIGITS program.
