I have a Samsung Galsxy S8, running Android v8.0 (Oreo) with the June 1 Security patch applied.
For some time (well after updating to Oreo, using T-Mobile over the air update), all of the Apps that I have stored on SD card appear as grayed out generic Android icons with a little SD card icon on the side; however, these same Apps have normal colored icons on the Home screens.
Here's what I have tried:
All to no avail. When I move these Apps back to phone memory and reboot their icons in the apps drawer return to full color.
I even put a brand new SD card in and still no luck.
Someone suggested that I do not have the most current version of Baseband (G950USQU4CRE9) -- is that the most current??
ANy ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
You've done a lot already so thanks for being so thorough. The only thing I can think of is is formatting the SD card. That will erase everything on the card, but it could help. If you have another SD card, you could try putting the apps on that one to see if the same thing happens.
Bingo that's what I did sure enough it worked too.
