Are people who buy Cell-spots off of eBay able to reactivate them?
If a Cell-Spot is paid for but not returned to T-mobile is the device able to be reactivated?
I ask because I see a lot of these units for sale on eBay and auction and (if the auction is legitimate) these units should be being sold by t-mobile and able to be reactivated. Unless, of course, the seller is a private seller listing a device that has been blacklisted for non-payment in which case this confirmed by checking using the T-Mobile IMEI validation tool.
Good question. I've never heard of T-Mobile releasing title to the CellSpots, so I'd assume that any sold on eBay would be grey-market, at best.
I definitely wouldn't go for it, you can get a cell spot directly from T-Mobile for a $25 deposit and you'll know for sure that you get the service, warranty, etc behind it.
