I was on a trip to Yosemite, and along the highway, I realized there was no GSM network coverage. I then realized there was LTE coverage, as once I enabled Cell Data usage, I was able to make an LTE call.
Why was GSM coverage not available but LTE available in some areas? I thought GSM is always available as long as there's good signal?
I'm glad you were able to connect to LTE. As for why you weren't able to get on our 2G/3G network can depend on a few things such as your phone type and compatibility with the frequencies provided or towers may have been undergoing maintenance. I looked over the area and see that a new tower that includes 2G is being added to the area but we also have our U1900 and LTE 2100 bands active in the area.
