Every carrier does this if you look into their terms and conditions.
You need to call at the end of your billing cycle to port out to avoid an extra month of service since they
don't prorate the final bill.

Do you also realize that the carrier you ported to knew that you would incur these charges but didn't
care because they just wanted your money.
Pretty unscrupulous on their part .
