No and yes. Try this experiment, from a non-T-Mobile phone call (805) 637-7249. Listen to the prompts and see if it will let you leave a message for yourself. Did you call yourself? Well, no. Not really. Could you leave a message for your phone? Try it and see.

Yes, there is software that can call your number and go directly to voicemail. Some businesses and telemarketers use it.
There may be ways of doing this but I am not aware of anything other than what drnewcomb2 suggested about calling the 805 number. This is the voicemail system number and if you enter a T-Mobile number, you can leave messages or access your voicemail with your password when you don't have your phone on you.
