2 of 2 people found this helpfulyou have to contact T-Mobile to set it up, and it should have told you to contact customer care to set it up.
611 or their 800 number you can find on their site. If you log into MyT-Mobile it should give you some more information.

1 of 1 people found this helpfulHey there!
Welcome to our Support Community! We have a few short codes that we send these type of texts to. What short code did it come from? The text should include a link to this page: Port-out scam protection | T-Mobile that explains exactly what's going on in this industry-wide porting issue. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hiya, andy_f! I went ahead and updated your username, but I'm sending a private message your way in case there's something else you'd prefer. If so, please check your inbox and let me know!
I hope you've had a chance to review the replies from our Community members and manager here -- we would love to help you get this protection set up on your account, we just need you to Contact Us for assistance. The link that Amanda shared and the screen shot that tidbits posted should have a few more details if that's what you need -- we super appreciate your dedication to self-help, though! If you're not super psyched about calling in, and have active social media accounts on FB or Twitter, you can reach out to our T-Force team to complete this process online, too. -

Hey, andy_f!
We just wanted to return and update this thread with a link to a new account security document we've added to the Support site. In addition to the port-out protection page that Amanda linked above and our blog about account security and the new feature, you can now also find this information here: 10 tips to help protect yourself from phone scams!Hope this helps you and other users who might visit Support looking for this information!
