Attachments do not display or download

A few months ago, I switched from Verizon to T-mobile and since then I've had many issues with my Galaxy S7 Edge phone. One of the issues is whenever someone sends me a text with an image attachment, it does not display. There is a "no subject" message with a download icon in it's place. If you select the icon, it looks like it's attempting to download but never completes it. I tried working with T-Mobile support but they are useless. They just tell me it's because my phone is a "Verizon" phone, which is ridiculous. I spent hundreds on this phone and there's no way I am buying a new, identical phone just because it has a T-Mobile logo on it.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
