Samsung S8 refuses to reconnect to data

    I just started service with T-mobile yesterday and have been driving across the country with another person who is also on my plan. I have a Galaxy S8 and they have a Galaxy J3 Prime. Since we are doing a lot of travelling, service sometimes cuts out. However, every time it does, my phone refuses to connect to data whenever we regain service until I restart it. The other phone has no problem reconnecting. It is rather annoying because service comes and goes a lot. I've tried resetting all my connection settings to default and no change. Is this a known problem? Thank you.
