Why is T-mobile beginning to charge me $2.00 for calling 611?

On Saturday, December 16, I contacted T-Mobile via chat to activate my SIM card replacement for my new Moto G5 Plus phone. Ever since then, whenever I dial 611 to check my balance, T-Mobile deducts $2 for the call (I have the $2 Daily Unlimited Talk Text 2G Web plan). I never had this problem on my Moto G 2nd generation phone before I decided to retire it. At first, I thought it was probably the WiFi calling feature, so I turned it off. I still got charged when I dialed 611. I wonder if it is the network type? It is currently set at LTE and the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" is turned on. My old phone, the Moto G 2nd generation, didn't have LTE and used the 2G/3G network.
