It has a small crack top left of the screen. I went to a store yesterday and they told me that I could not make the Jump! upgrade because the phone was damaged, so I have to get the iPhone and start a new lease, which is fine. If you can confirm this info that'd be great.

Also, what is the best way to pre-order the iphone x with you guys? Taking into consideration that I don't have to do any upgrade paperwork. I got told at the store that the best way is to go in there and do it in the store because of some document that has to be signed, but I am scared by the time I am able to go after work there won't be any preorders available to be delivered ASAP.

Last question, does Jump! still offer device insurance or how would that go? What would be the deductible? I don't know if to get insurance through you or go with Apple Care. Thanks!

      • revinstant

Ok so I paid down my EIP to the point where I'm Jump! eligible. I don't have JoD but the normal Jump!

Since I can't camp an Apple store and get one then my question is this. What is the best method that anyone knows of to try and snag a launch day phone? Should I use the website or call in?

        • tmo_lauren

I'm going to try and answer a bunch of these in one shot, I went ahead and tagged everyone!

Aloha leetucker Great question! The $300 does not apply to JOD pricing, however you can close out and move off JOD and on to an EIP when you purchase the new phone!

djyousef Hey there! Pre-orders will begin at 12:01AM PT (so 2:01 CT) on the 27th! Once pre-orders for the iPhone X begin, you can easily place your order on the MyT-Mobile App, MyT-Mobile, or any of these options.

magenta2992239 Pre-order does begin at 12:01 PT! If you are adding a new line of service, you will want to either do so through the app or my.t-mobile.com, or by calling 1-800-TMOBILE If you dial standard 611, they are able to help upgrade an existing line to an iPhone X but will have to transfer you to 1-800-TMOBILE to add a line!

hey magenta2992439 Great question about the iPhone Upgrade Program! Device pricing may be based on credit, so we wouldn't be able to say for sure! But you can learn a lot more about the program here T-Mobile's iPhone upgrade program

magenta2992475 Good question! You would need to close out and move off JOD and on to an EIP. This is something you would want to have a rep walk you through to make sure you weren't just placing another JOD order, so please make sure if you speak to a rep to place the order if you want to go with the $300 off offer. For your other question, so long as you are considered "well qualified" the pricing you posted does apply!

mistermet74 Late welcome to T-Mobile! I love the advanced planning and questions! If you are planning to upgrade every year, JOD is the way to go in my opinion! You can read all about the programs here Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) JUMP! On Demand But if you are looking for latest and greatest every year, I would Jump on Demand is the program you are looking for.

roberto00g Great question! So long as your account is qualified for JOD, you should be able to select it right when pre-order opens! If you want to check your eligibility, you can do a mock order through my.t-mobile.com if you are an existing customer and just choose a device to upgrade and see your options, or you can just contact us directly so we can check! Contact Us

magenta2993164 Good question! I can't speak for Apple processes, but I can tell you that T-Mobile does not run an existing customers credit for an upgrade, and I can't see a reason Apple would if you aren't financing the device. That said, it would be best to reach out to Apple to confirm. I don't see any talking points on our side that is warning Apple is doing that, but I don't want to speak for them. But I can 100% confirm if ordered through us, there would be no need for freezing or unfreezing. That said, I understand wanting to order through them in the shipping gamble, so if you have the time, I do encourage confirming with their support!

            Question for you @tmo_lauren

How do I switch from Jump! to JoD?

            • tmo_lauren

magenta1531486 If there is a crack, it does disqualify the device turn in. However, if you have insurance, you can file a claim on the device and pay the deductible, and then complete the trade. The cost of the deductible doesn't always make that the best option even if you have insurance depending on the situation, so I would suggest contacting customer care if you think there's a possibility that an exchange could work for you! As for the best way to upgrade, no channel is better than the other in most situations, and barring a few exceptions, most everything can be completed electronically. You can easily place your order on the MyT-Mobile App, MyT-Mobile, or any of these options. Adding insurance will be a part of the ordering process and is included with JUMP, deductibles are based on the model chosen! If you do choose to go with AppleCare+, just remember it doesn't include physical damage coverage, but does have all sorts of other great stuff!

revinstant Orders are gonna be processed in the order they were received! If you think you are speedy, I would say go through the app since you won't lose time on a rep greeting or verifying the account over the phone.

Do I have to call 611 to pre-order the iphone X or can I do it via the site?

So I'm pretty keen on grabbing the iPhone X with the $300 promo and an EIP. I've got a fully paid off and unlocked iPhone 6 Plus so I should qualify and have little issues there. I'm just wondering where I'll have to go at 12:01am in order to start the pre-order for the X straight away. What page should I be refreshing essentially in order to see the pre-order going live with T-Mobile? Would it be https://my.t-mobile.com/purchase/shop for instance, where there currently is a banner for the promo for iPhone 8 and 8 Plus? Or is there a specific landing page for the iPhone X pre-order that I can have queued up? And what exact information will I need in order to roll through this so that I can be ready for everything?

Hey heidirocks9 Great question! The mytmo page you linked should be great if you are doing a standard upgrade! If you are wanting to JUMP you will need to be under the PHONE section, not shop.

You will want to make sure your bill is current, have any payment info (credit or debit card) ready if you have a down payment, and then of course your shipping info. Nothing too crazy, but definitely best to be prepared!

So if I'm looking to make the purchase as an EIP and not as a JUMP program purchase the link I provided is the correct one? And in place of the current $300 off trade-in promo banner at the top for the iPhone 8 it will be updated with the trade-in pre-order promo link for the iPhone X? I just want to be sure that I've got the exact right page to be refreshing so that I can move on it as quickly as possible as you can probably understand.

                          • tmo_lauren

heidirocks9 It *should* work for an EIP upgrade! I will say, they haven't confirmed an upgrade link to us (which is standard for any Apple launch), but historically that has been the way to do it. I don't have any info on whether or not the iPhone X banner will be updated, and don't have a historical point to reference back to since this is the first split launch. If I had to guess it will update, but if it doesn't reflect a change at least the day before the pre-order, I think you are better off with the shop link!

Im still paying off my current iphone 7 on EIP from last year which was also pre ordered on the first day. Can I pre order the iPhone X on the same line and start a new EIP and pay both together? I called customer service and they said I was able to, but on this website New iPhone X Release Date | Pre-Register for iPhone X | T-Mobile  on the last FAQ question its telling me only EIP device is allowed per line. Customer service told me it doesnt matter how many devices you have on EIP per line because T-Mobile gives a certain amount of credit that is allowed for EIP per account and as long as your in that limit you can EIP as many devices as you want.

What is the correct answer for this? I dont want any issues when I pre order.

I have two lines I'd like to upgrade on iPhone X pre-order day, one an iPhone 7 Plus on JoD, and the other an iPhone 6s on Jump!  I gather from the foregoing discussion that the best chance of success will be to call in when pre-orders open, since I cannot upgrade JoD online.  Do I have that right?

Will it be possible to process both orders quickly enough to have a decent chance of success of having the phone on launch day?

                                • tmo_lauren

nicks786 Yeesh. This is gonna be a little complicated and sorry in advance for my sort of non answer. So, Care is technically correct- you have an EIP balance, and so long as you are within it, you can typically stack payments. That said, we may not be allowing that for the pre-order since the talking points contradict that. I don't know how they would limit that in the system so from a candid perspective, I would say I think Care is giving you the right advice and maybe the TPs aren't accounting for high credit limit situations, but the FAQs are technically the official word. I am going to try and find a solid answer and clarification, but if I don't get an answer by pre-order I would say use the answer in the FAQ to be safe.

chrisatx512 Good question! You are 100% correct in your assumption you can't do JoD online, it will have to be with a rep. Good news is we will have a ton of reps on overnight to assist with orders. I would honestly suggest placing your orders separately, go ahead and get the JUMP order completed online while you are completing the JoD order over the phone. You probably won't get the phones at the same time, but having a rep complete both orders is going to push you behind people only completing one order no matter how speedy your rep is.
