Liar, Liar, Pants on fire.

magenta2764236

I just signed up with T-mobile on Monday - and so far I am SO disappointed. The T-mobile representative who sold me the service (I think his name was Dominique) lied to me on so many things to get me to sign-up. Here are just some of things that I have now found to be completely untrue:

#1. He told me that T-Mobile One for 2 lines would cost $100 (taxes and fees included). When I asked him "why is it advertised as $60/per line? Shouldn't it be $120?" He assured me, "no it's actually $100." Today, after I activated my phone I found out that it REALLY was the $120 I expected.

#2. He said T-mobile would ship two SIM cards and they would arrive within 2-3 days. I called after 3 days to check-on the shipment and they told me to just go to a local T-Mobile store. I found out today that the SIM cards aren't actually arriving until October 2nd (7 days after I changed services). Luckily, I was able to pick-up the SIM cards, but this sales rep discouraged me from going to my local store.

#3. He told me I would receive a 15% monthly Active Duty Military discount bringing my total monthly down to $80. I asked him how to sign up and he stated "you just bring a military ID to any T-Mobile store and they will enroll you." FALSE! You have to sign-up through customer support and today I was told that the only military discount is "exempted status" from overdue fees. I do not plan to have any overdue bills so this is not helpful at all. I am really not sure where he came up with 15% and "$80" a month.

#4. He told me the T-Mobile service at my address was REALLY STRONG. Today, after I activated my phone I find out that I barely have one bar and sometimes "No Service" in/around my home.

Re: Liar, Liar, Pants on fire.

Oh my goodness magenta2764236, this is not the foot we want you to be starting off on with us. It sounds like we may have got you set up on the wrong plan but that is something we can definitely fix as we do have a 2 line T-Mobile One Tax included plan for $100 ($110 without auto pay). Please contact us as soon as you can so our billing specialists can verify you are put on the correct plan.

As for the delay in shipping of the SIM cards, I sincerely apologize you were given the incorrect timeframe. We ship out the SIM cards through regular mail so they can take up to 5-7 business days to arrive. I am relieved that you were able pick up the SIM cards at the store and get your services up and running.

For the Active Duty Military discount, I am truly sorry for the misinformation but we do not offer a %15 discount on services. That account can be placed in an ADM status which exempts the account from certain fees such as shipping and warranty fees. It is not limited to late/overdue fees but this status is reserved for when the spouse or billing responsible party is on Active Duty. We do however offer a reward card through our Advantage Program that if eligible, you can receive a $25 Reward card for every T-Mobile ONE line you activate as well as every time you upgrade your device. You can check out the program and enroll here.

For your coverage, I totally understand the importance of having reliable signal in and around your home as this is an area where you will be using your phone the most! When we do a coverage check for your home location, we can tell what the service should look like but there are some variables that could impact what you are actually seeing. If you could provide me with your nearest cross streets as well as your ZIP code, I can take a closer look at the map and see what the coverage looks like or if there are any weird issues that could be affecting your current coverage.

Hi there, magenta2764236. First, please let me echo the sentiment above -- I'm sorry to read over the experience you had. I just wanted to check in here and make sure you'd had the opportunity to read over Chris's reply. We'd be happy to take a look at the area where you're located if you'd be comfortable sharing your ZIP and cross streets. Please let us know if there's more we can help with.
