New Note 8: "com.tmobile.pr.adapt has stopped" endlessly

    This dialog started appearing even before I'd logged into the phone for the first time.

     

    "com.tmobile.pr.adapt has stopped"

     

    ..and it asks me to "close app"

     

    I've updated the T-mobile app, turned off T-mobile-app diagnostics and restarted, hoping that might help but... no. This dialog keeps appearing...

     

    Has anyone a clue, on what gives, and how can I be free of this pointless interruption?
