Correction! Sorry, it's not the video dialer that's doing this, it's the "Contacts" screen that it brought up when I opened it.
(Can't see any way to edit the title of this thread or to delete it and recreate it with a corrected title, sorry.)
But my question remains: why is it pre-populated with Boost Mobile contacts?

When you set up the phone you also synced up the contacts from your previous account. That includes any contacts you had stored to your Google account such as the boost contacts that were already preinstalled on your previous phone. You will need to edit your contact list and re-sync those.
I hang my head in shame here because my previous account was a Verizon flip phone with an ancient 400-minute plan :-)
My only contact with Boost was getting a couple of basically free Kyocera Hydro phones from them. Aha! The same Google account was used with those phones. That must be the source of this. Silly Google didn't even realize that those phones never even had a phone number.
No problem. Google knows all. Lol
