Galaxy s6 problems since update

    My husband has a galaxy s6 that recently received the nougat update. Prior to the update the battery was draining horribly fast. Since the update, the buttons work on and off, the battery continues to drain very fast and the touchscreen lags horribly. The phone will not let him do a factory reset. Is there anything that can be done to fix the problems? He's trying to hold out until we get the money for a new phone but until then this update has virtually rendered his phone next to useless.

        Has he tried doing the master reset through recovery instead?

          Hey there! Sorry to hear that your husband is having issues with his phone! Was your husband able to get the phone reset yet? Resetting through recovery mode as theartiszan  suggested might be easier.

           

          1. Turn off the device.
          2. Press and hold the Volume up, Home, and Power keys together.
          3. When the Samsung Galaxy S 6 logo screen displays, release only the Power key.
          4. When the Android logo displays, release the Volume up and Home keys. 'Installing system update' appears for 30 - 60 seconds, followed by the Android system recovery menu.
          5. Press the Volume down key until 'factory reset device' is highlighted.
          6. Press the Power key to select.
          7. Press the Volume down key until 'yes' is highlighted.
          8. Press the Power key to select.
          9. When the reset is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
          10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

              Actually all he did was download some type of button app and it's been working great since...lol! I am keeping the reset directions if he should need them in the future. Thank you!!

                  so that others with similar problems might be able to try it as a possible solution?
