Call problems on a galaxy 5s

hoyeman

I consistently have problems with calls on the Digits app on my 5s.  Would switching to a phone capable of 2 lines and not using the app solve this?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. You mean Samsung Galaxy S5 right?

What exactly is the nature of the problem you are having? Do you have latest DIGITS app? Are you on the latest firmware of S5? Is it a calling issue or texting issue? Do you see any error messages? Please provide these details to further help you and answer your concern.

Calls in often don't show that they are coming in on my digits line.  Calls in can't hear me.  Unable to call out.  Calls in go straight to vm.  This has happened over various versions.  I have deleted the app and reinstalled it to correct, so I always have the latest but this has happened on many versions.  Not sure if I have the latest s5 firmware.  No texting problems.  No error message.

Ok. You have done the basic trouble shooting already and since its happening over multiple versions of the DIGITS app, it seems to me  that something is happening / broken at the back end. Let me tag tmo_chris who should be able to file a bug report on your behalf in the morning, Also you can call DIGITS Tech Support Specialist line at 1-844-889-5651 and lodge a ticket and post the ticket number here for tmo_chris so that he can keep an eye on that.

could this be solved simply by upgrading to a phone that has a dedicated second line?

There is no phone which has a dedicated second line. If you really want to upgrade, you can upgrade to S7 / S7 Edge or S8 / S8+ which has built in multi line settings which will enable you to use DIGITS without installing DIGITS app. But if the backend allocation of DIGITS line has problems, even using a device that has native Multi-line settings wont solve the issue. Before you upgrade, I strongly suggest that the backend problem gets diagnosed if any because upgrade is a costly affair.
