No network connection after July 24th update

I have a Galaxy S7. I got a notification on July 25th that there was an update, which I installed. After the phone rebooted, it can't connect to the network. I can get WiFi, but no mobile network. After the update, the baseband version was G930TUVU4BQG5. We took it to a T-Mobile store where they did a factory reset. No dice. Still no mobile network connection, but now my baseband version is Unknown.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

The rep at the T-Mobile store told us that we'd have to buy a replacement phone or get Samsung to repair this one. I don't think that's right. How can installing an update from T-Mobile that bricks the phone be my financial responsibility?
