Hi,
Pretty sure if I could pull the battery and reboot this
it would be fine and less trouble on you guys.
If removing and replacing a battery will fix an issue so will this.
This is the soft reset method which substitutes
for removing and replacing a removable battery.
If the above procedure doesn't work you can try this. or this.
If "this" doesn't work check out the other videos.

Explanation of why it appears that I had offered solutions after one was already supplied by theartiszan
I had in fact posted my reply before theartiszan posted his. It took many hours for the links in my reply to be approved before my reply was allowed to be publicly viewed. I apologize for any confusion. In any event, I believe that theartiszan 's reply is the correct answer since it specifically applies to the S8. However if the correct answer provided by theartiszan does not actually solve the problem, then one of the alternate methods using the links that I have provided, would still be worth trying.

You can press and hold volume up, bixby button, and power. That is a trigger that restarts the phone just like pulling the battery and works even when the phone is frozen. If that don't work, replacement is the only remaining option it sounds like. You might be able to get a loaner phone until they can get you a replacement.

Good morning, squirrelpants!
I just wanted to stop by to see if the suggestions that both artart and theartiszan made have helped. They're both extremely helpful in our Support Community and provided a few steps that I would recommend trying.
Keep us posted!

Happy Wednesday, squirrelpants!
Have you had a chance to try the recommendations above? I'm hoping that by now you have a working S8.

After fighting with the phone support for several hours (They said they were sending me a replacement phone, and they sent me a screen cleaner at one point!), I finally got a replacement phone sent to the Tmobile store. The tmobile employees at the store were great so kudos to them. This whole experience has been quite a difference from the great tmobile support I first received 3 years ago. You guys should definitely look at your phone support team.
Thanks for your help here
