I have Unlimited Data plan which has 28GB limit for LTE speed and then slows down. Does Binge On eat this Unlimited Data Plan's 28GB highspeed data cap?

        • For unlimited plans, it's not a cap, it's deprioritization.
        • Unlimited plans do not have binge-on, as their is no bucket to exempt the data usage from.
        • Yes, all data usage counts against the deprioritization threshold.

          Hi gens1234

e2k is correct when stating that limited data plans with buckets do exempt Binge On data from the plans' data allowances. If you do however have an unlimited Simple Choice data plan, Binge On is also aplicable to your plan.

A limited data plan with Binge On actually has two limits.

The first limit is the monthly metered allotted data cap which includes any rolled over data. Binge On data is not deducted from the metered monthly allotment. Binge On doesn't register on that particular meter.   There is however a second meter which adds Bing On data usage to the visible meter data usage. The combined usage is officially known as "total on-network data". That combined usage is the data amount that might trigger deprioritization currently set at a 30GB threshold.

An unlimited data plan with Binge On only has one limit.

That "limit" technically isn't really a limit. There is no monthly allotment so the monthly metered data usage doesn't count. That part of the plan is truly unlimited. T-Mobile takes the position that we may be deprioritized at (currently) 30GB, if network congestion exists.  If no congestion exists the customer can continue to use unlimited high speed data in  excess of 30 GB. That is why an unlimited data Binge On plan is still superior to a limited data Binge On plan.

Dial #932# and you will see

" You have used xxx.x MB of your data plan." That is the monthly metered data used to date whether you have a limited or unlimited plan. The second half states "x.xx GB of total on-network data". The second data amount is the combination of the first mentioned monthly metered data amount and the invisible Binge On "unmetered" data. Keep an eye on the second data amount to avoid deprioritization.
