Never did from what I remember. It did have an add on where you can add the option.

tidbits is correct. We do not recommend getting a T-Mobile USA plan if your primary usage for an extended time is going to be outside of the US. As for data while roaming internationally, none of our prepaid plans have the ability to use data services while in other countries with the exception of Canada and Mexico (add on feature required). If you are going to be in Japan, it might be better to get your phone unlocked and then use a local sim.
