I also would like to know the same thing. From what i been told thus far the US model should be the same across all carriers. Thats what Samsung told me when I spoke their customer care. However, I'm waiting to speak to another rep that will be coming to the T-mobile store in my area on Sunday.
Knowing Samsung though they will probably at some point release a unlocked variant of the device for people to buy but it will be after this first shipment is done.
Regardless if you find out more information please let me know.

It would be interesting if this device were compatible across carriers (e.g. LTE/CDMA/UMTS/GSM) with all the most common bands (like an iPhone 6s or Nexus 5x) but it would not be like Samsung to do this. Samsung is well known for customizing (crippling) their phone to have only the bands the carrier requests.

Agreed its very frustrating. Even if they took the iPhone 7 approach and had a GSM model and a CDMA model I would of been happy. However, if they cripple themselves i won't buy.

That's kinda tough to say ubeguy. The info that we have would be about the version that T-Mobile sells. I do think the best bet would be checking with the manufactures for the other variants.

Are you able to disclose what bands the T-mobile variant has.

Hey dragon1562! The only information we have right now is what's available here: Tech specs: Samsung Galaxy S8. I feel pretty safe assuming that you have already taken a look at that page, as I know you're no stranger to our Support site. Did you have any luck getting more information from the Samsung rep you were intending to visit?

I believe it is the SM-G950T and G955T. It also appears there is a -A -V -P version just like the 7's so it looks like each carrier has their own variant. Of course it could just be "bloatware" but then again Verizon in particular locks other things like I know they have always locked the service mode (*#0011#) on the Samsung phones.

The hardware is the same, but what the Spectrum is locked out, carrier bloatware. You can use Qualcomm tools to unlock them all which is nice but people should expect lower than normal battery life.
