Hey vonbriz! While the duplicate SIM should arrive activated and ready, we have seen a few hiccups where it hasn't played out that way (primary example here) or where it takes a little time to get working on its own (here).
Your best bet to make sure we don't keep you waiting to use DIGITS is to reach out to our DIGITS team over the phone. Their support line should be in the welcome email you received - but I'll send it to you via PM just in case you're not able to find it, I'd rather not have you hunting! Just check your inbox in a few.
