My DIGITS stopped working altogether 3 weeks ago. Nobody at T-Mobile seems to be able to help me.
What happens when you try to make a call out?
Do you get an error message of some sort or does the call simply not complete?
I get a recorded message from the 3rd party sim provider that says it does
not support calls on this sim. That makes sense because it is a data only
service on this sim. In the Digits setup options (App Settings/Network
Settings) there are 2 options, "Use minutes and data" and "Use data only".
I have tried both options and neither work. Using the same sim in an iPad
with Digits I do not have any problem making a call.
It appears to me that Digits in a smart phone is trying to call using the
sim's voice service instead of VOIP over data. In the Digits app there is
a settings option that may control this but it does not make any
difference. Under App Settings/Network Settings there are 2 options; "Use
minutes and data" and Use data only". Tried both but it that makes no
difference. Interestingly on the iPad, there are no Network setting
options for "Use minutes and data" and Use data only".
I did not have this issue with an earlier version of Digits. It worked
Hey there! Just wanted to check in on you and see if this was still happening! Hopefully this has worked itself out, but if you're still having trouble do you mind taking a peek at the clarifying questions Mike asked above? Thanks for posting!
I am still having the problem on my iPhone using the Digits App. When I
use Digits on my iPhone to make a voice call, Digits tries to dial out on
the 3rd party sim. When trying to do so, the sim rejects the call and
gives me a prerecorded message that the call is not allowed from this
line. It is like Digits is using the native iPhone dialier and not the
Digits dialier to place a voip call.
The same sim in my iPad works fine to place voice calls.
This is a data only sim provided by FreedomPop. FreedomPOP is a mvno
running on AT&T's network.
When I originally setup Digits, it worked great on the iPhone but one of
the Digits upgrades seemed to induce this problem.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
