Hey photoghero! I have to say that does not sound quite right and I'm terribly confused - if you're replacing your device with the exact same make, model, and memory size, you should be able to file a claim with the insurance agency directly and pay your deductible to have a replacement shipped.
Can I ask if you're financing your phone through an Equipment Installment Plan or a JUMP! On Demand Lease? Did we ask you to pay these additional funds to us directly, or did the insurance agency (Assurant or Asurion) request that you pay more than your deductible?
