I don't use the mobile app, and I don't allow it to run in the background, but when I opened it to check for the other bug I submitted, I noticed it showed multiple repeat texts both incoming and outgoing. I called the guy I was texting and he said he didn't receive any of the duplicates. Every blurred text is an exact copy of the one before it.

Thank you again for reaching out to us. Duplicate messages like that are definitely a concern, though I'm glad the other person isn't getting them each time as well. That does help us isolate this to the app. I don't see this listed as known issue, and I haven't seen it happen myself. Depending on which device you're using, have you cleared the cache and data on the app and/or uninstalled and re-installed the app?
