Hey marc1981 - welcome! This is a great question. I dug through the user manual and Ringtones & notifications: Kyocera Rally page and really came up against a conflict. It looks like in the menu options, you'll see a "Downloads" section for Ringtone selection, but a previous thread here addresses this same concern - I wish I knew the "answer" that the original poster from that thread was referring to! That same user did post in another thread regarding music downloads, and I'm wondering if the steps Lauren posted to get into the File Manager were helpful.
Access File Manager
1. Press > Tools > Memory Storage
> File Manager.
2. Highlight an option and press .
- In Phone to access files stored in your
- Memory Card to access
It might be worth trying those and seeing if a "move" option is available somewhere once you're in the File Manager!
I contacted Kyocera directly, and they emailed me this response this morning:
"Thank you for contacting Kyocera Communications Inc. This message is in response to your email regarding the inconvenience that you are having with your Kyocera phone.
First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience that you are having with your phone and appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
In this phone you can't setup a downloaded ringtone to your phone, you can just use it to hear the music but the ringtones are already setup by default and no media file you transferred will let you change it. We apologize for the inconvenience this might caused you."
So it looks like I'm out of luck with trying to change my ringtone to one of my own. I still wanted to say thanks for your help though.
Yuck! I'm sorry, what a bummer! Happy to try to help, though - and I really appreciate that you took the time to return and post the official response, as clearly you were not the first user to try to make sense of that "downloaded" ringtone option and I'm sure you won't be the last! Thanks for your research and input!
