burning desire to hear in simplicity why you chose the V20 OTHER THAN i had no other choices to go to. do you see a slight qualitative value for it other than lesser than in price of other carriers. oh my, its been samsung nightmare for a while.
HTC doesn't have phones in stores
Not fan of Samsung before or after this mishap.
im not a fan after 2 note recalls and a buggy s7edge got up to 44c on battery for no reason.
My V20 has tracking
i wanna play too. you got one up on me. no tracking yet. i ordered later time yesterday.amazing u got tracking. how so soon.
I odered mine well before midnight when it all started. I caught it at the right time I guess. I didn't know about the $200 promotion because of it. So I didn't cancel my order just to get that.
promo i saw was headphones.my v20 will come with no eip. paid outright.unless youre talking tradein. or tablet.im still waiting a month for two 256 gb sdcards from samsung.oh well, np with storage is all i say.and for tracking, mine was ordered 9 hrs later than you.id be lucky just to see tracking. dont matter when it ships.
what time were you lucky enough to get tracking number so soon sir.
I ordered like 9:50 HST (11:50 PST).
here's the promo I bolded and underlined it.
Purchase this phone and get an LG tablet FREE after 24-month finance agreement. Plus, get a FREE pair of Bang and Olufsen H3 headphones from LG. You’ll also get at least a $200 credit for any 4G smartphone you trade in.
I ORDERED at 11am ........ 8 am pdt. i was told as usual that tomorrow i might get tracking. sadly, i got 4 days to return edge in store. hope i get tracking before that.
The reason why I chose this phone over another is because:
The High Quality 5.7 display: I hate small screen phones as I can't do anything productive with them. I love bright and large displays. Also I like the idea of the smaller screen above the main for App Shortcuts
Android 7.0 out of the box: I love being up to date on OS, this sates my need to be current.
UI: The LG Skin isn't offensive and it is pleasing to my eyes. Though in the future I would like to see themes act like Samsung Themes, changing more than just App Icons and Wallpapers.
Camera: Taking photos is rather important and it looks like LG is upping the camera game. I would like to see how well their Camera works with everyday use.
v20 may not be superamoled..........but its super duper to me and i hope others as well/only if i use nova launcher does it pop pop.i assumed regretting it, im over that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A CASE TO PROTECT CAMERA AREA.
I waited for the V20 after reading the specs and reviews. I was going to upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy S5 to the LG V10 but they told me to hang on a bit and look at the V20. My main requirements were replacable battery and expandable memory. The additional features of the V20 made a good upgrade for me at this point. Mine gets here tomorrow.
I do a lot of photography and I'm pleased with the V20 as a camera, and I like my music and the ability to keep track of what's going on this phone is going to be perfect for me. It's a tool for me, something to make my life easier and keep track of workouts and such, this is a perfect upgrade from the S5.
It'll be my third LG phone, my G2x is still going strong as my prepaid line/backup phone, as is my Galaxy S4. I'm thinking it just might be time to root my G2x and upgrade the OS some...
And it's now 0327 in the morning of the 20th and my new v20 is out for delivery, I'll have it in my hands around lunchtime! Woot!!!
I was a diehard Galaxy user until I received my V20. Before this, I had a Note 4 which I'll keep as a backup phone. I was going to bite the bullet and order a Note 7 until the whole fiasco started. Personally, I don't like phones with non-replaceable batteries. Anyway, the V20 has one which was a plus but ultimately what steered me towards the LG was its hi-resolution audio DACs. I'm an audiophile and listen to uncompressed music with good cans. The Note 4 was just meh... in fact, the Galaxy S3 I had before I gave it to my daughter sounded better. Anyway, this V20 is very good in terms of audio quality. It's on par with some of the more expensive audiophile-grade audio players available but has the benefit of being able to receive and send emails, phone calls, take pictures, etc.
I also just realized the other day that there's a built in FM radio. Bonus!
The only thing I'm not so thrilled about on the V20 is the camera quality. It's good, but it seems to my eyes that the Note 4 had a slightly better IQ (at least when the camera's focus would work).
P.S. I forgot to mention that the IPS LCD in the V20 has horrible color accuracy. It's too cold and somewhere around the 9300K scale. I had to turn the Comfort View option on to low in order to filter some of the blueness out. It's better but since I don't have a color meter, am not sure what it is at that level, but my eyeballs think it's closer to 7500K now.
So those are my only two main gripes. Otherwise, I'm happy to have moved the V20.
