The last update had the same problem. Message is "Insufficient space to download: 13.7MB". There is of course, 393MB available. What are the plans to fix this? I'm not comfortable being told every day there's a security update available that I'm not able to install.
Can you try clearing the cache partition and giving update another shot? You can check out the steps in the link below on how to do this. Keep us posted if you need more help. Thanks!
Thanks, unfortunately no change, same message even after clearing the cache.
Is it possible there's a bug in the code that's calculating the download size or the available free space?
There could be something going on with the software. A reset might be necessary but I have another idea. Do you have any 3rd party memory managing apps installed? If so, can you uninstall them and try the update again?
I don't have any memory management software installed (they don't work on this particular phone).
The update download worked after I freed space to about 420MB. This happened in last update too. It sure looks like there's a bug in the code that's calculating either the space needed or the space available for an update.
As there's already so little space available on this phone and it's designed to prevent moving apps to an SD card, it sure would be helpful if this problem was sorted before the next update.
