You can connect your phone to your computer and put it on your SD card in a music folder. From there Play Music should be able to see it. IIRC. Make sure you have downloaded only on and it should hide everything but your own music.
I use ShareOn Audio app, can play music from any DLNA server on any DLNA client but a great app on its own!
I appreciate the help. I learned that I could use a download manager to upload my music into the cloud for Google music. Everything is fine now.
