Do you live in one of those markets? You should have gotten notice that your device wouldn't work anymore (assuming it was active at the time). I don't know if you'll qualify for the replacement still? No harm trying.
There's probably more markets since that article, but I haven't seen anything, official or not about others.
But, that's my guess since the specs I found show it only supports AWS.
Have you tried resetting the hotspot? This can make sure all the settings are correct and allow you to connect properly.

Apparently I was part of the chosen markets. I went to tmobile and they confirmed that this model hotspot is obsolete. If it wasn't for the fact that I needed it for a trip where they was no wifi I would not have gotten it. I upgraded to a newer hotspot and everything was sorted.
