I lost my phone, fortunately i had insurance so i paid around $170 for the new one and everything was fine.
BUT after a few days the phone was found. So
What am i suppose to do wth the "lost" phone?
I'm sure the carrier blacklisted the imei, but... on the otherside the phone is unlocked. But i haven't try to activate with any other carrier
Can i just go to apple and replace to a new one? The phone is 7 months old.
If i do that... will i get a unlocked phone? Will i get a phone locked to the same carrier?
Send it to the insurer. They legally own it.
Thanks for the answer, i have more questions
How do i know who is the insurer?
Can an unlocked phone but (blacklisted by a carrier) be activated with another company?
Will apple check if the phone is blacklisted?
If apple change the phone under warranty, will i get a locked phone or a unlocked phone.
Blacklisted means that is locked too?
You know who the insurer. You pay for your insurance every month. When you filed a claim you filled out the paperwork which also had their name on it.
i pay to the carrier, not the insurer, is the same?
What you are doing is trying to commit insurance fraud just letting you know.
Apple does look and since it is marked lost they will not give you another one.
You may pay the carrier, but the insurer is the only actually taking the money and filling out the claims and such.
Contact them and they will have you send the phone in. It is legally their property. Apple not T-mobile will help you commit fraud.
jozu I agree with tidbits on this one. You'll want to contact the insurance company you made the claim with. Keeping the phone would be insurance fraud. It wouldn't be possible to use the phone you claimed was lost on another carrier. It should be blocked so no one can use it.
