My wife and I each have a Samsung Galaxy Lite SGH-T399 running Android version 4.2.2 and use a T-Mobile Personal Cellspot Router in order to have stable wifi calling. However, we are unable to receive any calls when wifi calling is activated. Text messaging has no problems. We had the router replaced once by T-Mobile because of performance issues. Now when wifi calling is enabled all calls go to voicemail. I noticed that when I check my phone's setting for call forwarding I'm unable to access it as it's disabled. When wifi is turned off I can then change my call forwarding setting. Do I need again to replace my router?
Not sure about the calls going to VM but can tell you that the settings for call forwarding only work when you are actually on the cellular network.
Hey jwhlrussell I have a few suggestions before replacing the router. (Hopefully we won't have to do that)
I would start by checking the Connection Preferences and make sure it's set to Wi-Fi Preferred. This will make sure the phones have the most ideal settings to receive calls over Wi-Fi. You could also try powering the router off and back on, then make sure you can access data while connect to the router.
When you connected your phone back to your Wi-Fi, see if you get any error messages. If you do get an error, let us know so we can guide you through other steps if needed.
Thanks, but had done that already, especially since I've gone through this
before. In addition, I've taken the follow steps: under application manager
selected wi-fi calling settings and cleared cache and data; also I
uninstalled updates to 'T-Mobile My Account' and reinstalled the updates to
Wi-fi calling work for a day and this evening my calls went again to
Thanks for your help!!!
Well, bravo for trying and even going the extra mile. At this point, we'll need to have you Contact Us and get in touch with Tech Support. They will go through any additional steps needed and file a Trouble Ticket or (dare I say it) replace the router if it's an equipment issue.
