Interesting your OnePlus 2 does not work there. My wife's Nexus 5X had no problems.

I contacted oneplus about the 2 and they said it wasn't supported. I guess
I'm going to have to contact oneplus because so far everyone at t-mobile
says it "should" be supported.

1 of 1 people found this helpful"Not supported" is an easy out. "Not supported" can mean, "We just elect to not worry about it." In what way is it not supported?
According to GSMarena.com, the OnePlus 2 (US version) supports these 3G & LTE bands:
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700)
The LTE bands used in Canada are the same as those used in the US (e.g. 2, 4, 5, 12, 17) except they also use band 7. Some carriers may also use bands 13 & 29.
What APN are you using? Some phones/carriers have problems with T-Mobile's default APN (fast.t-mobile.com) and using the alternate (epc.tmobile.com) may work better. Also, you may try changing the IPv4/IPv6 switch.

I just checked and it was set to ipv4 only so I changed it to ipv4/IPv6,
but I won't know if it works until I go back into Canada. Fingers crossed.
Thanks.

Canadian carriers are very compatible with T-Mobile, as pointed out in the quited post.
What part of Canada were you in?
Do you have data roaming turned on in your phones settings?
Have you tried manually selecting the Canadian network? Bell or Telus are T-Mobile's roaming partners in Canada.

It was the ipv4 setting, it was on just ipv4 so I changed it to use both
and yesterday it worked fine.

Very strange indeed! Are you still in Canada? If so, can you try dialing #ron# on your phone to enable data roaming?
