Hate to break it to you, but nfc photo trasfer works within same devices. Like galaxy to galaxy, but not to other manufacturers/brands. You have to use Bluetooth like android beam.

OK, well as long as it's not just because I'm doing something wrong.

2 of 2 people found this helpfulThat's what Samsung Beam does, and also "Android Beam" from my understanding. NFC is specifically used to make it easier for devices to pair via WIFI Direct and beam whatever you are sending. It's restricted due to potential CR issues(there's a bunch of long winded articles on this issue. RIAA involved). NFC doesn't have enough bandwidth to send thing through it.

Clearly, I need to read up on what NFC does. The problem with sending photos via BT is that it's pretty slow. As I understand it the bandwidth of a BT link is well below 1 mbps.

Hey, drnewcomb2, just checking in -- were you able to use NFC/Android Beam to transfer your photos? Did you have any luck with the case off? Apologies in advance if this reads like a soulless TMO plug, but if you're able to connect both to the same WiFi network, do you think this would work for your needs: T-Mobile Content Transfer app? I just used LG Mobile Switch to move stuff from an old phone to a new phone, but the last time I swapped devices that wasn't an option and the TMO app worked just fine!
