Are you using the Yahoo Mail app or one of the built in email apps?
Yahoo is notorious for having problems with built in email apps.
Thank you for repliyng to my dilemma.
I'm not sure how to tell the difference between "app" and "built-in" app.
I don't think I ever installed it. (this is my first "smart phone)
When I slide the start-screen over and seee the long "list of apps" in alphphabetic order, "yahoo mail" is at the bottom of the list.
After doing the "slide-over", I "press and hold" (Yahoo mail"), and the only option that pops up is "Pin to start" .. and no option to "uninstall"
For an Android phone, I'd call the "built in" being the app called "Email".
With it saying "Yahoo Mail", I'd imagine it's probably truly Yahoo's app (assuming it's got the Yahoo logo on it -- I don't know if Windows Phones do icons for individual email accounts... Sorry, I'm just not fully familiar with WinMo).
The things I'm thinking are:
- You changed your password and you need to tell the app the password's been changed
- Someone else changed your password (the answer to this is whether or not you can log in via the web on your PC. I'm assuming you can, so I'd probably rank this one low)
- There's an update to the Yahoo Mail app and you need to install the update (however apps magically get updated on WinMo)
Traditionally, Yahoo has MANY problems if you're not using their email app for some reason. It will stop working for days, weeks, months, then magically start working for a while, then stop again for no apparent reason. In the Android community we tell people to use the Yahoo Mail app (or completely give up on Yahoo and go to GMail).
hmmm, this all seems to make sense ((and 'yes' I can get yahoo email on desktop with my familiar password))
It sounds like it's worth a try to *install* a second yahoo email app and see if that restores functionality ... or switch to mobile gmail .. but since it's a windows phone, maybe "Hotmail" would find a more receptive environment
IF you want to use the stock EMail App instead of Yahoo Mail app (which seems to be dysfunctional), here is how:
Yahoo mail sucks. Get a gmail account instead
