Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press down on the back cover and slide, as shown.

  2. Pull the back cover away to remove it.

    Note: You will find the default SSID (Service Set Identifier) and password printed on the label under the back cover. You will need this information when you connect the Mobile HotSpot to other devices.
  3. Remove the battery by lifting at the notch, as shown.

  4. Slide the SIM card into or out of the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down, as shown.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. Place the non-T-Mobile SIM card into the Mobile HotSpot.
  4. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  5. Click Settings > Security > Unlock Device.
  6. Enter the unlock code into the field labeled Device Unlock code.
