Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Remove the back cover.

  2. Insert or remove the SIM card.
    Note: The SIM is inserted with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner of the SIM facing out of the slot.

  3. Replace the back cover.

Delete SIM messages

To delete SIM messages, follow these steps:

 

  1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon.
  2. Click SMS Text.
  3. Set the Leave Messages On SIM Card field to No.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Click Save.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  4. Scroll to and select the Manage Connections icon.
  5. Select Turn All Connections Off.
  6. Press the red End key.
  7. Scroll to and select the Options icon.
  8. Scroll to and select Advanced Options.
  9. Scroll to and select SIM Card.
  10. Enter MEPD (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
  11. Hold Alt and enter MEP2 (the letters will not appear on the screen as you type).
  12. Enter the unlock code.
  13. Turn off the device.
  14. Turn on the device.
